The Lay Carmelites of the South Texas Region presented their 2019 Day of Recollection at St. Edith Stein church in Katy, Texas, on Saturday, November 9th, 2019. The theme was “Saint Mary Magdalene de Pazzi”, and the presenter was Father Leopold Glueckert, O. Carm. A total of 70 Lay Carmelites and some guests were present at the event, which was part of the Continuing Formation of the members of the four communities in the Region.

Finding Joy in Our Hearts Through Our Carmelite Faith:
 
On the weekend of the 2016 Texas Regional Lay Carmelite Retreat, Texas region Lay Carmelites were blessed to attend a Regional Retreat on the shores of Lake Dallas, Texas, at the Montserrat Jesuit Retreat House. The event was led by The Most Reverend Fernando Millan Romeral, O. Carm, Prior General.  The topic, Titus Brandsma, Carmelite Mysticism for Today, was marked by the advancement of Bl. Titus’s cause for sainthood on the morning of the opening of the  Retreat.

More than 470 Lay Carmelites from both North American Provinces came to the Atlanta Hilton for the 2015 convocation.

They came from all of the USA and Canada, and the Caribbean, to reflect on the theme of “Carmelite Transformation: A Lifelong Journey” Before the official opening, the provinces hosted a “Leadership Day,” with presentations on the new Community Manual, Phase II formation, record keeping, and other community matters.
